Welcome to the Great Needlepoint Exchange 2026

The Great Needlepoint Exchange is an annual event for anyone who is interested in sharing across the craft and making new friends.
Basic Details:
You will receive TWO partners: one you send a needlepoint care package to and one you receive a needlepoint care package from. The timeline from registration to sending and receiving a package is between 10-12 weeks.
The minimum for each package is ONE canvas. The maximum is $150 not including shipping. This is a guideline to keep TGNE approachable. And remember this is a limit, not a target. Please do not exceed this limit.
You are required to be kind and courteous to both your partners, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity/race, religion, sexual orientation or any other social or personal characteristics.
There is a mandatory $5 registration fee. This helps cover the cost of the organizers' time and any lost packages that might go missing in the exchange. Your registration is not complete until your fee is paid.
NEW FOR 2026: Partner matching will be more random than years' past in an effort to keep matches fresh and exciting. Thank you for understanding!
Any questions, reach out to Andrea at thebateswoodcompany@gmail.com.
Timeline
-
January 7 - 14: Registration: Complete the survey on the registration page and purchase the $5 mandatory participation fee
-
January 15 - 28: Sit tight! Partner matching magic is happening
-
February 2-4: Partner emails are sent out to all participants. CHECK YOUR SPAM! (said with kisses)
-
Once you receive your partner mail: quickly reach out to both of your partners and make a connection. This is NOT a secret swap! Follow them on Instagram and leave a quick comment to introduce yourself. Examples like “HI! I’m your TGNE partner!” or “Howdy partner!” will do for now. Once you’ve made that first contact you can take your time getting to know your partner in greater detail via DMs or email – pretty soon you’ll be buds and the weirdness of that first contact will be nothing. This is also one of my favorite things on the Internet: How to Talk to People, According to Terry Gross: a phenomenal resource for life, but also to get to know your partner(s).
-
Late January - Early March: Feel free to start shopping once you get to know your partner a little bit. Example Packages. Keep the conversation going, shop for the partner you're sending to, start to curate your collection of goodies. Items that every stitcher will love
-
March 13: SHIPPING DEADLINE! All packages should be postmarked by Friday, March 13. Double check the mailing address with your partner before you send. Communicating tracking info is *highly* recommended.
-
April 1 - April 30: This is the time to report a missing package to Andrea at Bateswood Needlepoint.
